Terms of Service

1. Overview

Salam Sitters (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a childcare marketplace that connects Muslim families (“Parents”) with qualified childcare providers (“Sitters”). By using our website at salamsitters.com, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Our Role

Salam Sitters is a marketplace platform. We facilitate connections between Parents and Sitters but do not employ Sitters. Sitters are independent providers who set their own rates and schedules. We are not a party to any agreement between Parents and Sitters for childcare services.

While we vet Sitters through our application and screening process, including background checks, Parents are ultimately responsible for selecting a Sitter they are comfortable with for their family.

3. Eligibility

• Parents must be 18 years or older to use the platform.
• Sitters must be 18 years or older, female, and agree to a background check.
• All users must provide accurate and truthful information.

4. Pricing and Fees

Salam Sitters offers the following pricing options for Parents:

• Pay As You Go: $10 per booking request, with no subscription required.
• Monthly Subscription: $40 per month for unlimited booking requests with no per-booking fee.
• Annual Subscription: $336 per year ($28/month), billed annually, for unlimited booking requests with no per-booking fee.

Sitters set their own hourly rates (minimum $20/hour) and keep 100% of their earnings from childcare services. Sitter pay is arranged directly between the Parent and Sitter and is separate from platform fees.

5. Subscriptions and Cancellation

Subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis (monthly or annually). You may cancel your subscription at any time with a 30-day cancellation policy. After cancellation, you will retain access through the end of your current billing period.

6. Background Checks

All Sitters must consent to and pass a background check before being approved on the platform. By applying as a Sitter, you authorize Salam Sitters to conduct background screening through our third-party provider. Approval is at our sole discretion.

7. User Conduct

All users agree to:

• Provide accurate information in all forms and communications
• Treat other users with respect and professionalism
• Not use the platform for any unlawful purpose
• Not circumvent the platform to avoid fees
• Report any safety concerns immediately

8. Limitation of Liability

Salam Sitters is not responsible for the actions, behavior, or conduct of any Parent or Sitter. We do not supervise childcare sessions and are not liable for any incidents, injuries, damages, or disputes arising from interactions between Parents and Sitters.

Our platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Salam Sitters shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

9. SMS Communications

By providing your phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages related to bookings, account updates, and sitter matching. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP or contacting us. Message and data rates may apply.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any user account at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms, safety concerns, or inactivity. Users may also deactivate their account by contacting us.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of significant changes via email or website notice.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Hillsborough County, Florida.
